Hi Anna, how old are the students enrolled in your course? What qualification do they receive when they finish? How long does a course take to complete?
Hello. The school offer education for upper 2ndary students who are 15-18 years of age, as well as adult education. The girl in the photo is an adult student. The younger students do not study printing techniques,
The younger students study general subjects as well as vocational subjects for a duration of 3 years. The general subjects are however, due to a recent reform in 2011, adapted to the vocation. The adult students study for one ot two years. The student in the photo is at the end of her second year.
When the students graduate they are qualified to work in the industry. They are also prepared for further studies although they need to do some additional studies beforehand.
The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) is an international standard of qualifications divided into 8 levels. 2ndary school education is level 4. The evaluation is based on knowledge regardless of how it is learned. This system is not in use yet. Maybe soon, I think it will be a useful tool for evaluation in school and working life. It's supposed to stimulate lifelong learning.
Usually around 10-15 students. Some semesters more students are enrolled and some less. There is 2ndary school students and adult. In the theoretical classes, 2ndary and adult students are often grouped. In the practical subjects one teacher usually teach all 2ndary OR adult students together. It's a puzzle!
Some classes are held with fewer students. This year there where 2 classes with 2 and 4 students respectively. It is quite different from classes in bigger groups. It allows student to be more active in discussions for example, but there is of course less interexchange between students.
